Some people have asked why I choose to go all the way to Little Rock which is a 610 mile drive from home. UAMS has the Myeloma Institute of Research and Therapy. Here, they treat more people with Myeloma than any hospital in the world.
Friday, June 14--My Forecast Was Wrong Again
The forecast I made for today, based on my first round of chemo, was not correct. My white cell count only went to 1.47. I had forecast to myself and Reta that it would be over 3 today. My other numbers: hemoblobin-8.7, platelets- 45. Since my white count did not go over 2.0, I was not able to get the ports changed today to the larger Quinton catheter. Now I will have to wait until Monday or later for the port change. So that means apheresis cannot begin any earlier than Tuesday.
